Managerial StaffMANAGER - GARY CALDER - Joined Billericay as Manager in July 1999 from Enfield where he was appointed in December 1997 he led the club to 5th place in the Premier Division table last season and also reached the 1st Round of the F.A Cup, losing 1-2 at York City after a draw at Southbury Road. Previously managed Aveley where he gained promotion to Division One and won the Isthmian League Cup (the first Division Two club to win this competition and only one other to date) Later joined Purfleet where he was instrumental in them becoming the Division Two champions and Loctite Trophy winners in the 1991-92 season. Played as a goalkeeper during his playing career for several Essex clubs. ASST. MANAGER - CHRIS SNOWSILL - Joined from Grays this season COACH - JOE DUNWELL - The third member of the ex-Enfield managerial squad to join Billericay last season. Played in non- league for many years, mainly for Dagenham (making two Wembley appearances for them in the F.A Trophy), Chelmsford City and Tilbury. Has also been with Gary Calder some seven years. PHYSIO - DAVE LAWSON - Also joined from Enfield at the same time that Gary Calder was appointed. Joined the Middlesex Wanderers squad as physio on their tour of India during last summer. PlayersJOE BAKER - Signed in January from Sutton United after previously being on the books of Welling United and Leyton Orient Midfield player who made his debut against Dagenham & Redbridge on 8th January. JUSTIN GENTLE - Made his Billericay debut v. Canvey Island on 7th September this season after signing from Dagenham & Redbridge. Has also played for St. Albans City. Aged 25 scored one against Hereford United in the F A trophy GARY HENTY - 19 year-old utility player who spent eight years at Wimbledon until last year, achieving reserve team status. Previously captain of Havering Schools who were local champions four times whilst he was in the team and also won an Essex Cup medal with them in 1994. Had a trial at Brentford and then played for Purfleet and Barking KEVIN JORDAN - 26 year-old defender who plays at left-back or in a central position. Began his career as a trainee at Tottenham Hotspur and then had a brief spell with Southend United Made his Billericay debut in November 1998 after signing from Bishops Stortford. PAUL LINGER - Midfielder, Joined from Welling United last season after playing in the Football League for Charlton Atheletic and Brighton & Hove Albion. GAVIN KING - Goalkeeper signed this season after playing for Bishops Stortford for eight seasons, their longest-serving player. Aged 27 he kept ten consecutive 'clean sheets' for them during the 1993- 94 season when they were the Isthmian league Division One champions went on to make nearly 350 appearances for the Club. Kept a clean sheet against Rushden & Diamonds in the F A Umbro Trophy at home. CHRIS MOORE - Now in his second spell with the club. Originally joined from in 1996 from Bishops Stortford. Started his at Chelmsford City and has also played at Braintree , Heybridge and Dagenham and has an Essex Senior Cup Winners medal. Born in Melbourne, Australia. Now played over 160 games for Town. RUSSELL PENN - A young midfield player who joined with Gary Calder from Enfield at the start of the season, having previously been together at Grays. Has previously captained the England U/19 team and has also represented the British Universities. His season was disrupted by his studies at Loughborough University. LEE WILLIAMS - Utility player aged 22, who has also joined from Enfield. Signed for Enfield from Grays Athletic in December 99, knows where the goal is and a combative player who played 16 Football League games for Leyton Orient earlier in his career. JEFF WOOLSEY - Joined on loan from Dagenham & Redbridge in February last season. Signed for Billericay during the summer, he is a defender who played in Arsenals youth team before making a few appearances for Brighton & Hove Albion's first team. |
